At Living The Dream Labradoodles, we are literally living the dream. We love our dogs and want to share the joy we find in this incredible breed.

 

Dogs have always been part of our lives. From Lisa’s first dog Megan, the genius Miniature Schnauzer, to Joe's boyhood buddy Lassie, the short spotted Corgi-Spitz mix, Lisa and Joe have loved dogs. When they met, Joe had two beautiful labs, a black and a chocolate, and Lisa had a Yorkie, a Shih-Poo, and a lab-beagle mix.

 

Throughout her life, Lisa has suffered from allergies. It got so bad that she finally underwent extensive testing, and found out that, among the usual suspects, she was allergic to dogs. Fortunately, the big dogs loved to play outside when they were not at the office with Joe, and loved to sleep near the furnace. As the years went by, the dogs slowly passed out of their lives until they were left with only Saki, the five-pound Shih-Poo.

 

As time passed, we decided to try and find allergy friendly dogs, and learned about Multigeneration Australian Labradoodles. They are a step up from your basic Labradoodle. When bred responsibly they are more reliably non-shedding, low/no odor, and magically allergy-friendly. And, the big bonus: They have the soul of a lab, the smarts of a poodle and are amazingly intuitive.

 

Now, Lisa can bury her face in our dogs' fur without so much as a sniffle, and Joe has some buddies to play fetch with and take on hikes.

 

Our goal at Living The Dream Labradoodles is to breed the healthiest, happiest, allergy-friendliest dogs we can. This sounds simple enough, but it can be complicated! We’ve searched the country for the best foundation dogs we could find, including DNA testing to ensure that none of our puppies are affected by testable inherited conditions that can affect some Labradoodles. We look for soundness of structure (called conformation), assessing hips, elbows, eyes, coat, etc . If the dog passes these tests, we then look for that therapy dog temperament: kind and gentle, loyal and intelligent, eager to please, and easy to train.
